Amy Davis Sings Where The Boys Are on American Idol
Tonight, Amy Davis sang the song, Where The Boys Are by Connie Francis during the 1st Round of the top 24 contestants at American Idol 2008 Season 7. This week, the theme was the 60s.
The judges gave Amy Davis a hard time on this, but I thought it was a pretty good rendition of the song considering the context of the original song – from the cult teen/ collegiate movie, Where The Boys Are in which Connie Francis also acted. Amy Davis had that dreamy nostalgic tone in her performance that was quite appropriate. Her Linda Ronstadt audition performance knocked me out. But I guess, to her discredit, this musing kind of genre is her forte as all the songs she’s sung so far have been in that style. And my bias has nothing to do with her stunning looks. Seriously. Heh.
