Brooke White Sings Beatles Let It Be On American Idol
Tonight, watch Brooke White – one of the Top 12 contestants at American Idol 2008 Season 7 – sing the Beatles song Let It Be. The theme was Lennon/McCartney night.
I actually got bored during this. Maybe because the original and also its video have combined to suck out everything possible with this song. So there doesn’t seem to be anything left for a pretty lass in front of a piano to bring to it. Except some lovely bare feet which you get to see at the end of the video. And some annoyingly typical Brooke tears. There’s an interesting face-off between Simon and Ryan as Ryan fetches Brooke’s shoes. An underlying suggestion is made by Simon that Ryan probably dresses up in women’s clothes and accessories. This is not necessarily apparent in this video but it’s something that’s been going on right through this season.
