American Idol 2008 Season 7Audition – San Diego
This Irish singer moved to the US a few years back and made it through the Season 5 Audition at Las Vegas (this audition is included in the video). However, visa problems prevented Carly Smithson from competing in American Idol that year. However, Season 7 in 2008 saw Carly Smithson back at American Idol, this time auditioning at San Diego, sporting a new tattoo across her arm (she runs a tattoo parlor), and singing the Whitney Houston song I’m Every Woman.
Hollywood Week Round
The judges really shower it all on Carly Smithson during Hollywood week. In her 1st performance, she sings the song When I Need You famously done by Leo Sayer, Rod Stewart and Celine Dion. In her second performance, Carly sings Heart’s Alone – the perfect, perfect choice for any female singer with a powerful voice. Also watch the judges telling her she made it through to the Top 24.
