Carly Smithson Sings Shadow of Your Smile on American Idol
Tonight, Carly Smithson sang the song, The Shadow of Your Smile most popularly done by Shirley Bassey and Barbra Streisand, during the 1st Round of the Top 24 contestants at American Idol 2008 Season 7. This week, the theme was the 60s.
Randy Jackson calls Carly Smithson’s performance the best of all the Top 24 contestants. Paula Abdul is also effusive. But Simon Cowell sticks his neck out while running her down about her mike technique. I did feel however, after Carly Smithson’s Hollywood performances, that this was a bit of a let down.
