David Cook Sings Beatles Day Tripper On American Idol Theme

Tonight, watch David Cook – one of the Top 11 contestants at American Idol 2008 Season 7 – sing the Beatles song, Day Tripper. The theme tonight was Beatles for the second week running.

After the controversy last week, this time, David Cook credited the arrangement of his version of Day Tripper to Whitesnake during the video intro to his performance. The Whitesnake version has this cool ‘guitar talk’ thing in the middle with the words “Day tripper” being grunted out. Cook tried something similar with the talk box and all, but it just seemed like he was blindly adhering to the Whitesnake version without really doing it right. Great vocals, but.
