David Cook Sings Free All Right Now on American Idol
Tonight, David Cook – one of the Top 10 guys/boys contestants at American Idol 2008 Season 7 – sang the song, All Right Now by Free. Considering the theme was the 70s, this was a good choice – the beginnings of hard rock as we know it.
David Cook got the feel and everything right about this – it’s only the ‘too cool’ façade which is probably a cover up for his nerves, that annoys. And also the stuff in the beginning about how he loves crosswords and big words like ‘ostentatious’ – that’s really big, dude. Cook sang well and that’s that. Wasn’t too crazy about his performance in which he seemed hell bent on whipping out all the moves that supposedly go into a rock performance. The success of Daughtry has driven this season of American Idol – ‘rocker’ nuts to the point of being obsessive. Also don’t miss the slinging match with Simon Cowell where he makes Simon feel like a used rag. David seemed to be regretting his choice of words by the end of it all, but it’s an interesting next week in prospect.
