David Cook Sings Happy Together on American Idol

Tonight, David Cook sang the song, Happy Together originally by The Turtles during the 1st Round of the top 24 contestants at American Idol 2008 Season 7. This video starts with a short clip of David Cook at Hollywood week singing one of the most popular and covered songs in American Idol history – I’ll Be by Edwin McCain – which got the applause of Simon Cowell who had earlier been critical of him during his auditions. From the short bit on show, it sounds like Cook really got into the feel of the song. On to tonight – Happy Together is such a great song, unless you really screw it up, it can’t sound bad. Cook nailed it pretty much. With all the talk tonight about who is a rocker and not – well if I were a blind man and only heard Cook’s performance of the song, this would sound like a pretty good rock performance of a classic.
