Jason Yeager Sings Long Train Runnin Doobie Brothers
Tonight, Jason Yeager – one of the Top 10 guys/boys contestants at American Idol 2008 Season 7 – sang the song Long Train Runnin’ by the Doobie Brothers, 70s theme and all.
Simon Cowell ate into this guy just like he’d done last week. It almost looks like the sooner Simon sees the back of Jason Yeager, the happier he’s going to look. But the performance of the song was where it all truly came apart. What’s up with that corny grin right through and it was worse before it even started with Jason patronizing all of us about how he’s a self taught musician and playing some basic bits on three instruments. He claims he’s waiting for a killer song to bring on an instrument. Doubt if he’ll last long enough. And if he does, something about him tells me that the day he plays an instrument on stage is the day he’s gonna be cut out of the show.
