This time around Idol decides to let out past record deals info and we get to hear that Joanna was signed to A&M (she also had a deal with Geffen that fell through after a failed single). Well, Joanna is not exactly an unknown and has had pretty decent exposure including through Barbara Walters – unfortunately most of the exposure has been about her struggles in the industry than otherwise. Irish, she’s been already billed as the next Carly Smithson. She could do well at Idol, if the judges don’t kill her with the hype like with Carly.
