For those not familiar with Josiah Leming – Josiah was a contestant at American Idol Season 7, 2008 who made it through the Atlanta auditions to Hollywood Week.

During his Auditions, Josiah Leming impressed the judges with his Brit pop-rock original song – To Run. He then moved to Hollywood week, where he once again wowed with a keyboard accompanied performance of Mika’s Grace Kelly. Things went horribly wrong after that with him dismissing the band and performing Stand By Me quite poorly. After being booted out, Josiah has been getting massive viewership on Youtube. He also was invited to the Ellen Degeneres show where he performed To Run and was gifteda Yamaha keyboard and other accessories for him to record and cut at least a demo to take around to labels. Everything has worked out fine in the end and it’s up to him to make the best of his talent. During American Idol Josiah never mentioned that his mother is terminally ill (cancer). Contestants often try to milk out every possible sympathy vote. Apparently he left home and hit the road to prove to his mother that he could be a successful musician as she was disappointed he’d dropped out of school. Her favorite show is apparently American Idol. So good luck to Josiah.
