Luke Menard Sings Killer Queen on American Idol
Tonight, Luke Menard – one of the Top 10 guys/boys contestants at American Idol 2008 Season 7 – sang the song Killer Queen. Choice of song from a band that spanned three decades, when the theme was the 70s.
If you’re in a singing competition it’s very hard to try out Freddie Mercury and get off with only deep bruises. Michael Johns did that during his Hollywood week. Freddie is hard. Such is the ease with which he used to shift into the higher notes that very often you see singers who have a voice that suits the higher scales think – it’s time to take on Freddie Mercury. Luke Menard has quite a polished tone to his voice that could actually sound good if used right. He was off key especially in that crazy portion where the word ‘queen’ slides across a scale. And somehow, he seemed like he were singing falsetto most of the time. But credit to him for singing one of the hardest songs around.
