Luke Menard Sings Everybody’s Talkin on American Idol
Tonight, Luke Menard sang the song Everybody’s Talkin by Harry Nilsson during the 1st Round of the top 24 contestants at American Idol 2008 Season 7. Luke Menard’s performance was called pitchy by Randy Jackson and forgettable by Simon Cowell. Essentially, the problem lies if you’ve heard the song in the context of the movie, Midnight Cowboy for which it was the theme song. This is one of those songs that need to flow like it’s coming from somewhere inside. Luke Menard did look a little nervous – the thing is, he’s got a nice soft voice that would have actually conveyed this song well if he’d got it right.
