The songs he sings provoke muttered comments between Paula and Simon to the effect that they sound like songs written for a girlfriend. Despite all the judges not being particularly easy on him, he seems to take special offense at Simon’s comments that include a suggestion to join Hallmark in writing Mother’s Day cards.
