Robbie Carrico Sings One by Three Dog Night
Tonight, Robbie Carrico sang the song One by Harry Nilsson but most famously done by Three Dog Night. Robbie Carrico sings the initial melody quite well but then seems to lose the plot later on. Simon Cowell though appreciative of the performance casts doubts on the authenticity of Robbie’s rocker persona. Though the definition of who a rocker is has got quite distorted, I quite agree with this. In fact, during the audition phase the same opinion had been carried on this blog. To repeat it – you can take a guy out of a boy band but you can’t take the boy band out of him. It almost seems like at this stage, it’s more like what Carrico wants to be rather than what he is. Or maybe it just has to do with the phenomenal success of Daughtry.
