Syesha Mercado Sings Tobacco Road on American Idol
Tonight, Syesha Mercado sang the song, Tobacco Road (that’s been covered by all and sundry including David Lee Roth) during the 1st Round of the Top 24 contestants at American Idol 2008 Season 7. This week, the theme was the 60s.
Syesha Mercado gets all round positive stuff from the judges for this performance. Randy Jackson’s comments about her pitchy vocals were probably the most spot on. A sure shot for the later rounds. Does suffer from excessive over confidence though. Could be her undoing as the weeks unfold.
